2004 Vancouver International Dance Festival

March 9th to the 27th at The Roundhouse Community Centre (Davie Street and Pacific Blvd, Vancouver BC)

Kokoro Dance performed White Hot Core with the 18 piece jazz band The Hard Rubber Orchestra from March 9 - 11 with dancers Kevin Bergsma, Barbara Bourget, Jay Hirabayashi, Ziyian Kwan, and Alvin Erasga Tolentino.

Oliver moves in....Welcome to Vancouver Concert

December 11th 2003 at 7:30 PM at The Roundhouse Community Centre (Davie Street and Pacific Blvd, Vancouver BC), a co-presentation of Oliver Schroer with the Vancouver Folk Music Festival Society.

Solo concert by Oliver Schroer with some very special Vancouver guests including Kokoro Dance. This concert will be broadcast on both CBC and Radio Canada...

Tour to Poland and Germany

Barbara Bourget and Jay Hirabayashi worked from October 27, 2003 to November 7, 2003 with the Silesian Dance Theatre in Poland to begin an international co-production process that will culminate with performances at the 2005 Vancouver International Dance Festival and 2005 Annual International Contemporary Dance Conference and Performance Festival in Bytom, Poland. Barbara and Jay also taught at the Mamu Butoh Centre in Gottingen, Germany from November 10, 2003 to November 13, 2003 as well as giving a studio performance of ( ).

Transculturalism Conference at UBC

Barbara Bourget and Jay Hirabayashi performed ( ) at the UBC Long House for a Conference on Tranculturalism on October 19, 2003.

Noon Hour Show at Simon Fraser University

Barbara Bourget and Jay Hirabayashi performed at 12:30 p.m. on September 18, 2003 at the Simon Fraser University Theatre.

InFrinGinG Dance Festival in Nanaimo

Barbara Bourget and Jay Hirabayashi performed at the InFrinGinG Dance Festival in Nanaimo, BC at the Romper Room Climbing Centre (4385 B Boban Drive) at 7 p.m. on September 12, 2003 and at 4 p.m. on September 13, 2003.

Barbara Bourget and Jay Hirabayashi performed at the Powell Street Festival on Sunday, August 3, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Oppenheimer Park (Powell and Dunlevy).

Wreck Beach Workshop and Performances

Wreck Beach Butoh Workshop - June 30 - July 13, 2003

Wreck Beach Butoh Performances were held on Saturday, July 12th at 11 AM and Sunday, July 13th at 12 PM. Twenty dancers took part in the performances.
