Kokoro Dance performed Chapter from Book of Love at EDAM’s FOOTNOTES, the second of EDAMs choreographic series, featuring new dance by Peter Bingham, Claire French and Jay Hirabayashi.

Jay Hirabayashi (Executive Director, Kokoro Dance) reflects on love over a lifetime in two simultaneous duets – one a primal, somewhat aggressive and youthful dance, the other a geriatric yet nonetheless
lusty coupling. Performed by Barbara Bourget, Billy Marchenski, Molly McDermott and Jay Hirabayashi, danced to the music of Swans, an American experimental rock band led by singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Michael Gira.
Book of Love will premiere at the Roundhouse November 25 – December 5, 2015 and will feature music by composer Jeffrey Ryan performed live by the Standing Wave music ensemble, set and costumes by British artist Jonathan Baldock, and lighting by Gerald King.

19th Annual Wreck Beach Butoh Performances
The 19th Annual Wreck Beach Butoh performances took place, with fourteen dancers, on Saturday, July 12th at 11:45am and on Sunday, July 13th at 12:30pm at the foot of the #4 Trail at Wreck Beach.
